Privacy Policy

What we collect

The Bino List is a read-only comparison site. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no checkout, so we never ask for your name, email address, or payment details. The only data that reaches us is:

• Server logs: like every website, our servers record the IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of each visit. We use these only to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
• Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to see which pages and comparisons are popular so we know what to improve. It sets cookies and reports aggregate usage (pages viewed, rough location, device type) to Google under Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Saved filters: your filter and comparison selections are kept in your own browser’s storage so they survive a reload. They never leave your device.

Amazon Associates links

The Bino List is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

When you click a “Check price on Amazon” link, Amazon sets a cookie in your browser so that any purchase you make in the following window can be attributed to us. This does not change the price you pay. Amazon’s use of that cookie and anything you do on Amazon.com is governed by Amazon’s Privacy Notice, not by this policy.

Commissions never affect which binoculars appear on the site, how they are ranked, or what our comparisons say. Prices shown here are approximate, based on our last catalog update, and may differ from Amazon’s current price.

Third-party links

Links to manufacturers, retailers, and reference sites take you off The Bino List and onto sites with their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update will appear on this page with a new revision date.
